(Sp. model spelled same [mokéɲo] < moqui [an Indian tribe] and suffix -eño 'native to' or 'belonging to')

   Carlisle: 1925. A member of the Moqui tribe native to Northeastern Arizona and Central Western New Mexico. Cobos glosses it as a Moqui Indian.
